Some of the finest values from Italy today are coming from the south. This blend of Primitivo & Negroamaro grapes are from Puglia, which is the heel of the boot.
Some of the grapes are dried in the Appassimento method which has been used in making the famous Amarone for years. The result is an incredible wine at an unbelievable price.
By combining the ripe grapes from this region with the technique of the Veneto, it’s a sure winner in my book.
Aromas of cherry, plum and cinnamon escape the glass. Flavors of dark fruits, spice, raisins and tobacco notes coat the mouth with a long lasting finish. Super complex and full of character and at a price you can’t beat!
Pair with: braised veal shank, grilled wild rice sausage, hearty ragu in pasta or with some Pecorino cheese.
